Angélique Kidjo is about to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, making her the first African artist to receive this special honor.

Kidjo, a singer who has won five GRAMMY Awards and is often called “Africa’s top diva” by TIME Magazine, is being recognized for her amazing work in music. She is known for her strong voice, unique mix of music styles, and energetic performances. Her star will be in the “Recordings” category, along with other famous names like Miley Cyrus and The Clark Sisters.

This award celebrates Kidjo’s many years of sharing African music and culture with the world.

The news was shared during a live event at Ovation Hollywood, where the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the full list of people who will get stars in 2026. The list includes 35 stars from music, movies, television, live shows, and sports.
