This is pretty exciting stuff coming out of Nigeria’s entertainment scene. The super talented musician and multifaceted creative powerhouse Darey Art Alade just got voted in as a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, you know, the folks who do the International Emmy Awards. Talk about going global!
Darey broke the wonderful news himself on social media, and you could feel the excitement in the words he chose to make it even more evident, “Excited to announce that yours truly has been elected as a Member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (International Emmy Awards)! It’s an honour and privilege to join this prestigious global network of 900+ television executives.”
Just in case you don’t know who the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is, it was founded in 1969 and is based in New York. This nonprofit organization collects different television professionals from more than 60 countries. What they really do is recognize and award the best TV productions outside of the U.S. by means of their popular International Emmy Awards. We’re talking everything from dramatic movies to hysterical comedies all the way to hard-hitting news; and, yes, for a good measure, even delightful kids’ programming.
