Nigeria’s favourite music couple, Adekunle Gold and Simi, are expanding their family, and the announcement came in the most beautiful, understated way.
Rather than a loud reveal, the couple chose storytelling. The big news was quietly confirmed in the music video for My Love Is the Same, a track from Adekunle Gold’s latest album, Fuji. Released today, the video features a gentle appearance from Simi, her baby bump clearly visible, instantly letting fans know that baby number two is on the way.
The song itself is deeply personal. “My Love Is the Same” is a reassurance to Adekunle Gold’s daughter, Adejare, about staying present and emotionally available even when life gets heavy. It touches on long days, work pressure, and financial stress, while holding tightly to the idea that love does not change.
