Enioluwa Adeoluwa may have only been taking new headshots for school, but the photos have turned into a proper style moment.
The Nigerian content creator shared a fresh set of portraits showing off a carefully shaped Afro paired with tailored menswear, and his caption was enough to get us thinking about the hairstyle all over again.
“Took some new headshots for my school, since the Afro is here to stay,” he wrote. And honestly, he might have a point.
The Afro has always had a strong place in Black style, but seeing it paired with polished tailoring gives it a slightly different energy. In Enioluwa’s portraits, the hair is full and rounded, while the rest of the look is sharp, structured, and deliberately sophisticated.
For the first look, he went monochromatic in a textured purple suit and matching shirt. The rich colour, relaxed tailoring and oversized Afro give the portrait a fashion-editorial feel rather than the usual school-headshot seriousness.
It is the kind of look that makes the Afro feel less like something you simply wear and more like part of the entire styling. Enioluwa also kept things clean with minimal accessories, including a silver watch and ring, allowing the hair and suit to remain the main attraction.
What makes the photos interesting is that the Afro does not make the looks feel less formal. If anything, it gives them more personality. And maybe that is the point.
For years, men’s formal styling has often leaned towards low cuts, fades and closely groomed hairstyles. Enioluwa’s latest portraits show that a fuller natural hairstyle can sit comfortably alongside tailoring, watches and all the details that come with a polished look.
So, is the Afro actually coming back?
That might be a little too soon to call. But if Enioluwa is any indication, the hairstyle certainly has no plans of disappearing. And judging by these photos, we are very much okay with that.
