Liam Payne, former member of the popular boy band One Direction, has died at 31 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He was staying at the CasaSur hotel in the Palermo area. According to Buenos Aires police, they responded to a call about a “disturbing incident” involving a man who may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Emergency responders found Payne’s body in the hotel’s interior patio and confirmed his death at the scene.
Liam gained fame alongside his bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson as part of One Direction, which was one of the top-selling groups of the 2010s. The band went on an indefinite break in 2016.
