Grammy award winner, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems has been dragged online after her elaborate outfit blocked the view of fellow attendees at the Oscars on Sunday night.

The singer was nominated for Best Original Song for the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” track “Lift Me Up.”

The singer wore a white gown that wrapped around the back of her head. While the outfit was gorgeous, some found it annoying after they were unable to enjoy the event because it was obstructing views.

While the outfit turned heads on the red carpet it was breaking necks when guests took their sit.

In a clip posted to Twitter by music producer Alex Medina, a woman’s head can be seen poking behind Tems’ veiled headpiece. The poor guest moves her head hoping to have a better view of the stage to mixed results as she’s almost completely covered by the hat. Meanwhile, Tems sat without realising the panic she had generated in the rows behind hers.

Without a doubt, her outfit is gorgeous and it made a fashion statement before the show but made inconvenience for some during the show. Her designer should have made the headpiece detachable.

However, many defended Tems’ eye-catching ensemble, saying they were fans of the fashion-forward frock.

“If you’re sitting BEHIND greatness that is known as Tems, then perhaps you’re just not that important,” a Twitter user stated.
