So this guy I had just started talking to said, “Let’s hang out this weekend. Chill vibes, maybe a picnic. Dress simple, nothing too extra.”I said okay o.

I looked like “soft girl, but sensible.”I reached the picnic spot.

Omo. This man showed up in full agbada. Clean embroidery, matching cap, and those pointed shoes that scream “I own 3 plots in Mowe.” 😭

And guess what? He came with a professional photographer. Flashlights everywhere. He was doing slow-mo videos and saying,

Let’s take content for my YouTube.”

Sir, I’m in sneakers. You’re in wedding guest mode.

He then asked, “Why didn’t you dress up? You don’t take our vibe seriously?

Me: “You said dress simple.”

Him: “Yes, but with effort.”

After 10 minutes, he started asking if I wanted to be in a “couple skit.”

I carried my tote bag and left in silence.Still single. Still soft.

Now I overdress for everything — even if it’s “come and say hi.”
