Afrobeats superstar Davido recently sat down with Ebro Darden on The Ebro Show (Apple Music), and as always, he had fans talking.
In the interview, Davido opened up about how things changed when he took a break from music after his tragic loss in 2022. According to him, the music scene felt different — even fans and haters wanted him back.
“I was seeing tweets like ‘Damn, it’s so quiet out here. David, please come back.’ Even people who didn’t like me were like, ‘Please come back, we need to diss you,’” he said, laughing.
After his break, Davido made a huge comeback with his hit album ‘Timeless’, which gave us songs like ‘Unavailable’ and ‘Feel’ — and fans showed nothing but love. He also performed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final in Qatar, marking his second public appearance after the break.
Fast forward to now — Davido is back again with his new album 5ive, which dropped on April 18, 2025. The album has 17 songs and features stars like Victoria Monét, Shenseea, Dadju, and Tay C.
One of the standout songs, ‘With You’ ft. Omah Lay shot straight to No. 1 on the TurnTable Top 100 — making Davido the first artist to have a No. 1 song six years in a row!
And guess what? He’s taking the vibes on tour. Davido just announced his ‘5 Alive’ tour, which includes 13 cities. One of the biggest shows will be at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the UK, where he’ll be performing with 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige!
