When it’s time for red carpets, there are celebrities we are just absolutely sure that their appearance will be glamorous and actress Lupita Nyong’o is just one of them.

For this year’s Met Gala, she slayed a custom Atelier Versace gown with beaded detailing, inspired by Versace Jeans Couture‘s love of American denim to fit the In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, theme!

The beauty accessorized with De Beers diamonds and totally blew us away with her hair and makeup.

Not missing an opportunity to show off black hair, Vernon François styled the actress’ hair in a gravity-defying fro, paired with looped pieces of hair at the forehead that framed Lupita’s face better than any bangs could.

Her big, bold and black hair was complemented by navy-blue eye makeup by celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose.
