Spring has finally sprung here in the UK, bringing with it brighter mornings, sprouting daffodils, and (of course) impending Brexit deadlines. In terms of fashion, things are even more interesting: the high street is slowly filling to the brim with barely-there sandals, beach bags and sunglasses galore: we know summer is on the way, and we’re looking forward to dressing for those long, hot days in style.

You surely don’t need us to point out, though, that we’re not quite there yet. At the moment, the weather is fluctuating (dare we say it?) even more than usual, with chilly mornings, sunny afternoons, and blustery evenings to contend with. And let’s not forget those spring showers, which pretty much always catch us off guard, and drench whatever outfit we’ve thrown on that morning.

All in all, it’s the perfect time for you and your wardrobe to ease into the coming season with some chic transitional pieces. And, after speaking to fashion retailer ASOS, it seems as if there’s one must-have ‘transitional’ dress in particular which everyone is obsessing over…

We’ve told you time and time again that animal print is THE print of the season, no matter which season it is.

And that’s certainly been proven true by ASOS’ most recent sales figures. Indeed, when we here at Stylist reached out to the online retailer, they proudly informed us that animal print sales went up by a whopping 400% in AW18. Indeed, the ASOS DESIGN leopard print bias skirt sold out in less than one week. Phew.

Thankfully, though, those same designers have now created a chic alternative for SS19.

To create the item, ASOS designers took all of the style elements we loved so much in that sellout skirt and implemented them into a dress.
However, they have certainly upped the ante this time around. Think a fun all-over zebra print. Think long blouson sleeves (perfect for warding off springtime chills). Think a chic square neck.
Think everything you’ve been scrolling for, in one £45 dress.

Made from a silky-smooth material, the dress is available in all of ASOS’ fit ranges: ASOS Curve, Tall, Petite and Maternity. And it’s so easy to style, too: the fashion retailer recommends teaming yours with black biker boots (perfect for stomping through those springtime puddles) and minimal gold jewellery, to allow that bold animal print to do all the talking for you.

However, we’ve no doubt that the dress is going to sell out very quickly, especially if the success of the original skirt is anything to go by. So, if you’re a fan of this look, we recommend sticking it in your shopping basket ASAP, so you’re not left disappointed.
