Chioma Nnadi Becomes British Vogue’s New Head Of Editorial Content

Chioma Nnadi, a prominent fashion journalist with Nigerian and Swiss-German heritage, has been named as the new Head of Editorial Content at British Vogue, marking a significant milestone in the fashion industry.

At 44 years old, Chioma Nnadi is set to succeed Edward Enninful, who held the prestigious position of editor-in-chief. Enninful, a trailblazer in his own right, served as the magazine’s first male and first black editor for an impressive six years before his resignation in June.

It’s worth noting that Chioma Nnadi’s role as Head of Editorial Content distinguishes her from the title of Editor-in-Chief. Her appointment not only marks a change in leadership but also a shift in responsibilities.

This historic appointment also carries immense significance as Chioma Nnadi becomes the first black female head of this industry-leading fashion magazine, breaking down barriers and setting new standards.

Expressing her gratitude and excitement, the London-born journalist took to Instagram to share the news.

In her post on Monday, she stated,

“I’m so thrilled to announce that I’m the new Head of Editorial Content for @britishvogue. Huge thanks to Anna Wintour, @edward_enninful, and Roger Lynch for giving me this opportunity. I’m truly honored and so excited to be coming home. Stay tuned.

The official transition into her role is scheduled for October 9th.

According to Anna Wintour, Chief Content Officer and Global Editorial Director, Vogue:

Chioma is beloved among her colleagues at Vogue, and is an editor and writer with an impeccable reputation—both here and in the fashion industry at large. I’m so grateful to Edward Enninful for everything he’s accomplished at British Vogue, and we’re all looking forward to a productive and creative relationship with him in his new role.

I can’t think of a more worthy person to follow in his footsteps than Chioma, who has proven herself adept at speaking to our digital audience and has found ways to extend Vogue’s reach, authority, and influence across all of our platforms. She is passionate about fashion, music and culture, and I couldn’t be happier that she will be leading our editorial and creative teams.
