Here are The 8 Nigerian Artistes Nominated For the 2024 Grammy Awards

Nigerian musicians and the Afrobeats genre are reaching new heights globally, as evidenced by their strong presence in the recently unveiled Grammy Awards nominations list.

Eight (8) Nigerian artists clinched nominations across various categories of the prestigious awards.

Burna Boy stands out with nominations for “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” in the Best Melodic Rap Performance, “I Told Them…” in the Best Global Music Album, “Alone” in the Best Global Music Performance, and “City Boys” in the Best African Music Performance categories.

Davido received 3 nominations, one for Best Global Album with his comeback release, “Timeless,” Best African Performance for the chart-topping “Unavailable,” and Best Global Music Performance for the track “Feel.”

Davido took to X to celebrate his feat. He tweeted, “3 nominations at the Grammys!! Delay is not Denial!

Olamide and Asake earned their debut Grammy nominations for their collaborative effort “Amapiano” in the Best African Music Performance category.

Tems secured a nomination for her contribution to Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up.”

Ayra Starr received a nomination in the Best African Music Performance for the global hit “Rush,” while Fireboy DML earned recognition in the Album of the Year category for his contributions to Jon Batiste’s “World Music Radio.”

CKay made the Grammy cut for his involvement in Janelle Monáe’s “The Age of Pleasure,” nominated for Album of the Year.

Notable African nominees also include Trevor Noah, Musa Keys, and Tyla. The recognition highlights the thriving influence of African talent on the global music stage.
