Step-by-Step Process

  • Prepare your SEGO: Cut a long piece of SEGO, approximately 2-3 yards, depending on the size of your head and the desired fullness.
  • Fold and tie the base: Fold the SEGO into a thin strip and tie a small knot at the base, leaving a small tail.
  • Create the fan shape: Hold the SEGO vertically and begin folding it into a fan shape, with each fold about 1-2 inches apart.
  • Secure with bobby pins: As you fold, use bobby pins to secure the layers in place.
  • Wrap and tuck : Wrap the gele around your head, tucking the ends under the previous layer.
  • Adjust and fluff: Adjust the gele to your desired shape and fluff out the layers for a fuller look.
