Sundays in the Big Brother Naija house are more than just eviction nights, they’re fashion nights. And if there’s one person who never misses the opportunity to serve a memorable look, it’s Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the fashion lord.

This week, he stepped out in two outfits that were both nostalgic and modern, drawing inspiration from two Nigerian icons: highlife music legend, Oliver de Coque and Nollywood royalty, Chinedu Ikedieze.

Ebuka stepped into the stage was a moment of amazement, “Oliverr De Coqueee” The look paid subtle homage to Oliver de Coque, the guitar maestro who took highlife music to the world. This influence came through in the accessories, a wide-brimmed fedora in the same wine tone, the arm fur channeled Oliver’s signature cool, a hint of flamboyance in the detailing fit and a musical instrument to add a touch of pop. It’s the kind of styling that speaks to heritage while keeping it undeniably fresh.

He didn’t stop there, it was clear the night was going to be a show of remembrance. The suit carried an aura, one woven into Nigeria’s rich pop culture tapestry. The base was a perfectly fitted full-piece suit in a striking royal blue, a nod to Chinedu Ikedieze’s sharp, confident style in his on-screen and red-carpet appearances. The suit’s cut was sleek but commanding, with a long overcoat adding that “big boss” presence we’ve come to associate with Ebuka’s fashion choices. The outfit screamed “Akiii”

What made this outfit stand out wasn’t just its visual appeal, but the way it bridged two worlds, music and film, past and present, tradition and contemporary flair. Ebuka’s ability to pull off such fusion looks speaks volumes about his fashion sensibility. Thanks to Atafo – our all-time fashion magician. He doesn’t just wear clothes; he tells a story with them.

And, of course, his caption tied it all together: “Inspired by pop culture legends Oliver de Coque and Chinedu Ikedieze. Music. Film. Heritage. Style.”

Ebuka gave viewers a reason to pause and appreciate a different kind of performance. In two outfits, he managed to celebrate Nigerian artistry, honour its cultural icons, and set yet another bar for Sunday night style.

Once again, Ebuka proved that in the Big Brother Naija house, eviction nights may be unpredictable, but his fashion game? Always hot hot.
