Ebuka Obi-Uchendu just gave us a masterclass in how to celebrate a decade of marriage, and it involved a ring, a surprise, and one of the most iconic locations in the world.
While on a trip to Rome and Vatican City, the media personality recreated a proposal moment for his wife, Cynthia, ten years after they first said “I do.” In a video shared from the trip, Ebuka drops to one knee at St. Peter’s Square, dressed in a crisp white traditional outfit with sunglasses, holding out a ring box. Cynthia, clearly not expecting it, freezes for a moment, places her hands on her chest, then laughs as the reality of the moment sinks in before saying yes all over again.

The setting made the moment even more memorable. With the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica in the background, cobblestone floors beneath them, and passersby stopping to smile and cheer, the re proposal felt intimate without being overly staged. Cynthia kept things chic in a grey patterned coat, styled with a small black Dior bag that completed the look effortlessly.
Ebuka later shared that the surprise came after they had attended mass at St. Peter’s Basilica. The couple marked their exact wedding anniversary on February 6, spending the day between Rome and Vatican City. As part of the celebration, they also received a 10th anniversary certificate from the Pope and ended the day with dinner at their favourite spot.
With the milestone properly celebrated, Ebuka wrapped things up on a light note, teasing the next destination as they switched into full vacation mode. One thing is clear: ten years in, the love is still intentional, playful, and worth celebrating loudly.
