Aso Oke has always held a special place in Yoruba weddings. Long before modern bridal fashion became popular, this handwoven fabric became the heart of every traditional celebration. Its rich colours, beautiful patterns and royal feel have made it the outfit that truly completes a Yoruba bride and groom. Peller and Jarvis embraced that tradition in the most beautiful way as they rounded off their traditional wedding celebration.
After honouring Jarvis’ Edo heritage with a breathtaking first appearance, the couple closed their traditional wedding with a stunning tribute to Peller’s Yoruba roots. It wasn’t just another outfit change. It was a beautiful celebration of culture, family and the tradition that has been passed down through generations.
Jarvis looked every bit the royal bride in a custom creation by Prudential. Her mint-green and deep wine Aso Oke outfit was a beautiful mix of tradition and modern style. The neatly wrapped gele, coral beads and matching fan came together perfectly, while every part of the outfit reflected the beauty of a Yoruba bride.
Peller looked just as regal in a custom design by Tochini. His richly Aso Oke agbada, matching fila, coral beads and ceremonial staff completed a look that proudly celebrated Yoruba culture. Every detail felt intentional, giving him the confident presence of a groom fit for the occasion.
One thing that made their traditional wedding stand out was how both cultures were given equal attention. The Edo appearance proudly celebrated Jarvis’ roots, while the Yoruba finale paid tribute to Peller’s heritage. Together, they turned their wedding into a beautiful showcase of Nigeria’s rich traditions, proving that culture becomes even more meaningful when it is celebrated with creativity, respect and love.
From the proposal to the civil wedding and now a traditional wedding that beautifully honoured both Edo and Yoruba culture, Peller and Jarvis didn’t just get married. They gave us a wedding journey filled with unforgettable fashion moments that will be talked about for a long time.
