You know that feeling when a global superstar lands in a city and immediately becomes part of its vibe? That’s exactly what happened when Ciara arrived in Lagos right as the 2025 Lagos Fashion Week kicked off. We suspected that she wouldn’t attend just sitting within the front row and sure enough, she hit the runway. It was one of those moments that blend international glamour with local creativity and honesty.
This all took place on Day 2 of the event. She graced the Fruché show by owning the runway in this vibrant red gown that had this liveliness to it when it walked as a result of all those flowing pleats. Pleats that flowed in the vertical direction gave the appearance and movement to the piece, it felt as if it was alive as she walked with it.

What really stood out was the gown’s dramatic silhouette. Those sleeves were something else. Big, ballooned and flaring out like elegant wings, with the pleats creating these soft flowing folds that swayed with every step. The bodice has a plunging V-neckline that is ornate with beads and embroideries of red, coral and pink tones.

She also added a matching red gele styled tall with those sweeping folds and a bow like finish. In the way she placed it into the face but also broadened the visual drama of the outfit, it was both traditional and contemporary. I have to say, seeing her confidence shine through made the look even more powerful, it’s like she was born to wear it.
