Daniel Regha Calls Out Pastor Adeboye Over Wealth Remarks: “Practice What You Preach”

Popular Twitter watchdog Daniel Regha has sparked debate once again — this time, taking a bold swipe at Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

During the church’s 73rd Annual Convention, Pastor Adeboye delivered a sermon urging Christians to stop chasing material wealth at the expense of their spiritual lives. He described the act of prioritizing possessions over one’s soul as “stupidity.”

God does not hate enjoyment…But the body you pamper, shine, and make up will perish one day. Take care of the spirit, for that is what will go to heaven… If you are pursuing wealth at the expense of your soul, that would be stupidity.

But not everyone is buying the message.

Shortly after the sermon surfaced online, Daniel Regha took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out what he believes is a case of religious double standards.

Pastor Adeboye reportedly owns a private jet, a mansion, has access to luxury vehicles, but he’s preaching ‘against prioritizing material wealth over their spiritual well-being’. Many top Nigerian Men of God are known to live a lavish lifestyle, almost never practising what they preach.”

His tweet quickly gained traction, igniting fresh conversations around wealth, religion, and authenticity in Nigerian churches. While some users supported the pastor’s message, others echoed Regha’s criticism, questioning the lifestyle of many prominent clergymen.
