On August 25, Dua Lipa posted a gallery of pics in a neon green cow-print mini dress with a cutout back and matching bag. We couldn’t help but notice that the eye-catching piece looked a bit familiar, and after a quick jaunt through Kim Kardashian West’s Instagram, we spotted it — North wore the very same dress to celebrate her seventh birthday in Wyoming last year.
It is worth saying that the dresses aren’t exactly the same; North’s has a zip-up detail, while Dua’s appears to snap up the front. North’s version of the dress didn’t have the cutout back, nor did it share the belt detail.
The two also went in different directions with the styling of the mini dress; North wore hers with ranch-friendly Ugg boots, while Dua went for shiny knee-high black boots, a matching green bag, and green jewelry and eyeshadow. Dua re-enacted The Simple Life in her dress, while North wore it to ride horses and play with her family.
Us Weekly reports that the dress is by Mowalola Ogunlesi and retails for over $2,000. Of course, if you’re a huge pop star or the progeny of Kimye, that’s NBD! The dress looks super cool on both North and Dua; there’s no “Who wore it better?” to be decided here!
Dua Lipa has been serving up some major fashion moments as of late. She recently donned a pair of purple ’90s-inspired platforms that made her literally levitate, as well as a teeny tiny crochet bikini embroidered with rainbows and flowers.
Dua has an enviable closet and has lots of fun with what she wears, and we’d love to see her and North unite for a matching moment in their green dresses. Maybe for Dua’s next music video?
