Gangs Of Lagos: Africa’s First Amazon Original Movie

The 2023 Nigerian thriller film Gangs of Lagos was both produced and directed by Jade Osiberu. Additionally, Lala Akindoju Kemi co-produced the film Gangs Of Lagos, capping a three-year collaboration with Amazon Prime Video and the well-known Jade Osiberu production firm.

The first Amazon Original Movie from Africa, Gangs of Lagos had its premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 7th, 2023, and starred the best cast of Nigerian performers. This is a huge accomplishment for Jade, Nigeria, and Africa as a whole because it will promote the expansion of Nollywood and put the continent on the international stage thanks to Amazon Prime Video’s interest in producing African films and shows.

The movie has an interesting plot, and a beautiful array of cast featuring Tobi Bakre as Obalola, Adesua Etomi as Gift, Iyabo Ojo as Obalola’s mother, Chike as Ify, Chioma Akpotha as ify’s mom, Toyin Abraham as Bamidele, Olarotimi Fakunle Kazeem, Zlatan Ibile as Kash, Mr Macaroni as Wemimo, Bimbo Ademoye as Teni, Pasuma as London and a host of many others.

The movie Gangs Of Lagos explores friendship, betrayal, family ties, and the history of a nation. If you didn’t catch it over the weekend, you might as well add it to your list of movies to watch over the next.
