Ewa Agoyin, when translated to English means “plain boiled beans eaten with a pepper sauce.”

Ewa Agoyin is a delicacy common in the western part of Nigeria. It is a combo of mashed beans and sauce.

This meal is enjoyed with lots of things like bread, plantain or cassava flakes aka garri. And interestingly, it’s super easy to make.

Here are ingredients you would need to prepare the delicacy:

  • 400g dried tatashe,
  • 2 medium-sized onions,
  • Thumb size ginger,
  • 2 cups of palm oil,
  • 1 Tsp stock powder,
  • 1 Tsp crayfish powder,
  • Pinch of salt
