What if your birthday wasn’t just another day of scrolling through well-wishes on Instagram, but instead kicked off with some seriously cool photos and ended with you belting out a new song live on stage. That’s what stands out, right?
Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, certainly captured the essence of that during his big day. He started by releasing some beautiful portraits online. Just imagine, looking intense against a shadow background, draped in white pearl necklaces the right way. Add that dark outfit and a shiny metallic watch, and you have images screaming high-fashion editorials. Literally, it was like he was saying, “Turning another year older deserves some style.” It is how turning a year older should be done.
But it did not stop there at Broda Shaggi. He took it a notch higher, having a fun live performance of his fresh track, “It’s My Fucking Birthday.” Partnered with Clout Africa, he stormed the stage clad in a spiffy beige suit and shades, massive “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” lights beaming behind him. Balloons everywhere, full back live band scored him while he sang lines like, “It’s my fucking birthday today / I’m a year older today / I’m gonna eat some cake today.” You could feel the joy, and you could feel his signature cheeky humor coming in through every note.
