When it comes to making a statement at a premiere, few do it quite like Toke Makinwa. At a recent event aptly titled “Behind the Scenes,” Toke made heads turn with her purple mini dress that aptly demonstrated the essence of blooming elegance. It’s a type of attire that manages to mix evening elegance with flower-induced playfulness.
And at the center of it all is that stunning purple mini dress, which transitions perfectly from deep jewel colors to lighter shades of lavender. It’s truly an amazing garment because it’s then accentuated with three dimensional rose designs made from fabric all over the torso, sleeves, and hem. You will also spot pleats and ruching designed in a fan like manner, with gold beading that perfectly catches the light.
The sleeves with an off shoulder detail add some structure and volume, which is then accentuated with more rossettes and chain details for some edgy flair. The whole look is pulled together with a plunge V neckline, a nipped in waist that slims and shapes, and a pencil skirt that keeps things short and sweet. A sheer panel on the main bodice adds a bit of sultry flair, but it’s so elegantly done that it keeps the whole look sleek and chic.
Toke opted for subtle accessories so as not to upstage the dress. It’s paired with gold strappy heels that stretch the legs and match perfectly with the beading on the dress. Also added are stud earrings, simple yet sparkling. Beauty wise, Toke goes for a closely cropped haircut that frames her face, exuding a smooth yet effortless look.
