Why Is Hilda Baci Trending?
Hilda Basi has embarked on a journey to break Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon – a Cook-a-thon.
The event kicked off at exactly 4 pm on May 11th at Amore Gardens, Lekki Lagos with cheers from fans spearheaded by popular On-Air personality, Ilooise. The timer started counting the moment Hilda turned on the cooker. The cook-a-thon attempt was broadcasted live on Youtube, and Instagram live.
Hilda Baci cookathon, which will end today, May 14th, features a live-streamed show on multiple social media channels where Hilda will make over 250 recipes.
In order for Hilda to break this cook-a-thon record, she has to break the current record held by an Indian chef, Lata Tondon in 2019, who spent 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds cooking — equivalent to 3 days, 15 hours, and 45 minutes.
On the first day of the Cookathon, Hilda prepared various local recipes including Party Jollof, Coconut rice, Native Rice, Peppered Fish, Turkey Stew, and more.
As she cooks, celebrities and social media personalities turned up to show their support for her. Some of the celebrities spotted include Big Brother Naija ex-housemate and media personality Elozonam, Singer, Dremo, Social media personality Ama Reginald, Media personality, Eki Ogubor, TV Host and Actor, Seyi Awolowo, and Sydney Talker.
