Toyin Abraham’s Iyalode Trailer Is Here and It’s All About Power, Culture, And a Woman’s Bold Fight For The Crown

Nollywood lovers, it’s time to get excited! Toyin Abraham dropped the trailer for her new movie Iyalode, and it’s giving serious goosebumps.

The film will be in cinemas across Nigeria from June 6, 2025 and from what we’ve seen so far, it’s going to be a hit.

Iyalode follows the story of a strong woman trying to take her place as a leader in a world where men usually hold all the power. She faces tradition, politics, and big challenges but she refuses to back down.

The title “Iyalode” is a respected name in Yoruba culture, and this movie shows the tough journey it takes to earn it.

The film is directed by Adebayo Tijani and produced by Toyin Abraham and FilmOne Studios. It also features top Nollywood stars like Muyiwa Ademola, Gabriel Afolayan, Kehinde Bankole, and Bukky Wright who’s making a major comeback after 15 years.

Toyin revealed that almost a billion naira was spent to make this movie. So, expect beautiful costumes, amazing locations, and top-quality production.

At the premiere, celebrities showed up in grand style, dressing to match the “Oversabi Aunty” vibe an energetic theme inspired by Toyin’s standout moment at Priscilla Ojo and Juma Jux’s wedding.

Fashion designer Veekee James stole the spotlight in a red beaded Kente outfit that mixed tradition and glam perfectly.

With its powerful message, deep cultural roots, and stunning visuals, Iyalode is set to make waves in Nollywood.
