Wizkid and Tyla’s “Dynamite” Video Ignites Afrobeat Magic

Get your dancing shoes ready because Wizkid and Tyla’s new video for the track “Dynamite” is utterly worth swerving to! This collaboration between Nigeria and South Africa merges sultry grooves with infectious energy that forces you to get your body moving. The video is a colorful homage to African music royalty, aptly served with style and swagger.

Video director Nabil Elderkin sets up a spectacle from a Moroccan-style apartment where the stars shine through on Wizkid and Tyla. The commanding presence of Tyla suitably meets the effortless demeanor of Wizkid, resulting in chemistry that jumps out at you in every frame. Tyla flaunts a very stylish and breezy outfit, oozing that modern-day feel, while Wizkid appears slick in a tailored jacket that is just too splendid to miss. Golden colors kissed with pops of neon bring so much cultural richness, stitching together the Nigerian and South African feel into the visual extravaganza that is an ode to Afrobeat.

“Dynamite” is explosive, with mesmerising scenes. In one scene, Tyla’s strolls pass so effortlessly by a hotel café in silk linen that steals all attention and the next takes us with both Tyla and Wizkid to an ancient ruin, where the very cinematic location doubles their star power. The bouncy drums and smooth verses of the afrobeat-influenced track, produced by P.Priime, will have you dancing until sunrise.

Dynamite is one of the ways Wizkid and Tyla showcase to the world why they are global icons from the studio to the screen. Off Tyla’s WWP EP, one strong contender for summer’s Song Of The Season; the video, with its daring ending, serves extra drama and flair. So, which moment from the “Dynamite” video got you hooked? Are you team Tyla with the fierceness or team Wizzy with the smoothness?
