Grammy-winning singer SZA is giving back to her Los Angeles community in a big way. Teaming up with local favorite Jon & Vinny’s, the star will provide 1,400 free meals to SNAP recipients affected by the government shutdown. The initiative runs from November 11 to 18, with 100 meals for two distributed daily at the restaurant’s Slauson Avenue branch.

Recipients can request meals via [email protected], with each family eligible for up to four meals.
This effort is part of NOT Charity, SZA’s community-focused initiative launched earlier this year to nourish underserved communities. “This is not charity, this is community,” she said, and she’s living up to it. Jon & Vinny’s praised her for inspiring others to “be there for their neighbors.”

Wizkid’s first son, Boluwatife Ayodeji Balogun — known as Tife or Champz — is officially stepping into the family business. The 14-year-old has dropped his debut EP titled Champion’s Arrival, featuring five tracks: Champion Montana, Grind, Superstar, Champion Sound, and Champiano.

Announcing it on Instagram, he wrote, “The Champion has arrived.” His mother, Shola Ogudu, celebrated proudly, calling it a “super proud mum moment.” Tife had earlier teased fans, saying, “It’s time to pass on the baton,” hinting at his confidence and readiness to carve his own path.
It looks like the Afrobeat legacy is in safe hands — and the next generation is already heating up the charts.

Canadian-Hungarian-British author David Szalay has bagged the 2025 Booker Prize for his novel Flesh, a haunting and introspective story about the complexities of an ordinary man’s life. Judges praised it as “a book about living — and the strangeness of living.”

Chosen from 153 entries, Flesh stood out for its subtle emotional power and minimalist storytelling. This win places Szalay among literary greats like Margaret Atwood and Salman Rushdie, solidifying his reputation as one of today’s most distinctive voices.

The tournament, hosted across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, will mark his sixth World Cup, an unmatched record in men’s football. Yet, the Al-Nassr forward isn’t slowing down just yet. “I’m 40, but I’m still enjoying every moment,” he said.
