It was a dramatic and entertaining night in Lagos as comedian and content creator Carter Efe defeated street-hop singer Portable during the highly talked-about Chaos in the Ring 4 celebrity boxing event held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island.
Following Carter Efe’s impressive victory, Lagos businessman and socialite Emeka “E-Money” Okonkwo fulfilled his earlier promise of rewarding the comedian with a massive N50 million cash gift.
Speaking after the fight, E-Money congratulated Carter Efe and made it clear that he was standing by his word.
“We put our money where our mouth is. Congratulations, Carter on your win. N50 million for you,” he said.
The event, organised by Balmoral Group Promotions, brought together celebrities, boxing fans, and entertainment lovers for a night packed with intense action and dramatic moments. Balmoral Group Promotions CEO, Ezekiel Adamu, described the event as a huge success, praising both the fighters and the crowd for making the night memorable.
“We promised Chaos in the Ring and we delivered entertaining fights tonight. There is more coming,” Adamu stated.
Before the fight, Carter Efe and Portable had spent weeks exchanging words online, building anticipation for the celebrity showdown. Portable entered the ring with confidence after previously defeating actors and entertainers like Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington in earlier exhibition fights.
The singer had boldly declared before the match that he planned to add another belt to his collection by beating Carter Efe.
However, once the fight began, things did not go as expected for the ZaZoo crooner.
Carter Efe appeared more composed from the opening round, using his height advantage effectively while landing cleaner punches and solid body shots. Portable came out aggressively with his usual energetic fighting style, but Carter gradually controlled the pace of the fight with more accurate combinations.
As the rounds progressed, the comedian looked sharper and more disciplined inside the ring, while Portable struggled to land convincing punches. By the end of the bout, all three judges scored the contest 27-30 in favour of Carter Efe, handing him a unanimous decision victory.
The celebrity boxing clash quickly became one of the biggest talking points online, with fans reacting to both the fight itself and E-Money’s generous N50 million reward.
Aside from the celebrity showdown, the event also featured professional boxing matches. Godday Appah emerged as the new WBO Africa cruiserweight champion after defeating Ezra Arenyeka in what was described as a symbolic peace fight between the Itsekiri and Ijaw communities of the Niger Delta.
Basit Adebayo also secured a major victory on the night, defeating former WABU champion Loren Japhet to claim the WBO Africa title.
Chaos in the Ring 4 once again proved how celebrity boxing continues to grow in popularity in Nigeria, blending entertainment, music, social media culture, and sports into one unforgettable experience.
